I suppose I should own up to it, I have spent FAR too much time cleaning cars
Here is a wee run down of my valet routine.
I start by gently hosing off any loose dirt from the car, then I give the car a nice thick layer of snowfoam through my pressure washer and foam lance. I leave this to soak for between 5 and 10 minutes. This then gets rinsed off and then another coat of not as thick snowfoam is applied, after a couple of minutes I wash the entire car with hot soapy water and a lambwool washmit. Then I rinse the car again.
Onto the wheels now. These are done with wheel and tyre gel with a variety of brushes. Nothing too exciting, just a gentle scrub then a rinse off.
I then go onto the more stubborn dirt (tar and dead flies), for the tar I use Tardis, just spray it on and watch the tar dissolve (don't leave it too long or it has the same affect on paint too
). Poorboys Bug Remover is fantastic for dead insects, spray it on, leave it for a couple of minutes, then just hose it off. Fantastic.
If needed I will then clay the entire car, depending on what kind of paint it is whether I use a soft or aggressive clay.
Once I have done all that, I wash the car again with a layer of snowfoam and a bucket of hot soapy water. I always dry my car off with a waffle weave towel.
Unless there is some correction required to the paintwork, I will follow this up with a coat of wax, either my Supernatural or one of my Swissvax.
Total time for this can be anywhere between 4 and 7 hours.
So yep I have an OCD when I get started but I'm proud of the work I have done. I gave the self employment a go valeting and detailing cars last year and still have my website. Have a look here to see some of my work http://www.pavise.co.uk/index.html
If you have any questions just fire away.
